The Círculo de Pintores Solidarios in Madrid, Spain, through its Children and Teens Young Artists Club, announces its first International Drawing and Painting Contest.
It has been chosen the theme of the ENVIRONMENT for this first contest, as 2022 is the «International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development» since this year will be a key moment of mobilization to convince economic and political leaders, as well as the general public.
With this contest we want to encourage young artists to express, from their artistic perspective and personal creativity, their idea about the ENVIRONMENT, both on land and in the sea or in the air and how it should be cared for, both for our own survival and to leave a better planet for future generations.
The contest is open to all members of the Children and Teens Artists Club of the Círculo de Pintores Solidarios
Likewise, all those children and teenagers (between 5 and 15 years old) who wish to participate can also do so, for which they must become members by registering for free at the Children and Teens Artists Club of the Círculo de Pintores Solidarios
Given the diversity of ages of the Club’s members (between the ages of 5 and 15), four categories of participants have been established:
The theme of the contest is «ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT».

Registration:
Participant’s name and surname, date of birth, mailing address, name and surname of parent or legal guardian, telephone number and e-mail address.
Photographs and data of the works may be submitted from the publication of these rules until APRIL 30, 2022 and should be sent by email to: info@pintoressolidarios.org in jpg format and with the highest possible quality.
The works may be made with freedom of style, format and technique and must be original, being the minimum size DIN A4 for categories a),
b) and c) and DIN A3 for category d)
Each participant may submit only one work, including the title, technique, support and measurements.
If the participant deems it necessary, the work may be accompanied by a short text explaining the content and message of the work, or what it is intended to convey. The text can also refer to what the author thinks should be done for the preservation and improvement of the environment.
Virtual exhibition.
The poster announcing the Contest, the works of the winners and those of the rest of the participants will be published on the Association’s website and social networks.
Physical exposure.
The works of the winners of the Contest will be physically exhibited continuously during the year 2022 together with the traveling exhibition «Environment and Sustainable Development» starring the senior artists of the Círculo de Pintores Solidarios, which has been exhibited in different locations in Spain since 2021
It will be formed by five qualified persons appointed by the Board of Directors of the Association. The jury will evaluate the works attending to the aspects of creativity, mastery of the chosen technique and that the work transmits the basic concept of the Contest: The importance of the Environment and its protection.
The Jury’s decision will be published within 15 days after the deadline for submission of entries.
The President of the Círculo de Pintores Solidarios and the General Secretary of the Association will act as secretaries of the Jury, receiving the results of the scores and verifying the Jury’s decision and issuing the corresponding certification.
There will be two awards per category:
Category a)
5 and 6 years First prize: Diploma + Plasticine kit for handicrafts Set of double- ended markers 24 units + Drawing and Painting Pad A4 (pack of units2) + Magnetic drawing board.
Second prize: Diploma + Plasticine kit for handicrafts + Coloring books with stickers (pack of 3 units) + Case of colored pencils 24 units + A4 Drawing and Painting Pad (pack of units2).
Category b)
7, 8 and 9 years First prize: Diploma + Set of 48metallic and fluorescent watercolors + Drawing and Painting Pad A4 (pack of 2 units) + Set of iridescent acrylic paint 10 colors + Set of nylon brushes pieces.10
Second prize: Diploma + Set of 48metallic and fluorescent watercolors + Drawing and Painting Pad A4 (pack of units2) + Set of double-ended markers units.24
Category c)
10 a years 12First prize: Diploma + Case of double-ended markers36
+ Drawing and Painting Pad A4 (pack of units2) + Set of acrylic paint colors 24x 22 ml. + Wooden easel box.
Second prize: Diploma + Box of watercolor paints 24 x 12 ml + Drawing and Painting Pad A4 (pack of 2 units) + Table easel + Set of acrylic paint colors 24x ml22.
Category d)
13 to 15 years First prize: Diploma + Drawing tablet with graphic tablet and electromagnetic induction pen UION HS610 + Set of acrylic paint colors.24
Second prize: Diploma + Drawing tablet with graphic tablet and electromagnetic induction pen UION H640P + Set of acrylic paint colors 24x ml22.
The prizes may be replaced, in case of stock depletion or supply problems, by others of equal or superior characteristics.
The non-winning participants will receive a digital Diploma of participation in the Competition.
